Cycle 2 Eliminate Father Absence

During the first 2 ½ years, the primary funding vehicles for the 21st Century Dads Foundation were the Dads Honor Rides.

While the DHRs engaged dozens of riders and were highly successful in generating awareness and some funding, let’s face the facts, how many people do you know who can do back to back century rides for days, let alone for three weeks? And for those who are capable, to also take time off and raise $1,000/day.

During the first half of 2017, 21CD has been piloting a concept we’re calling the Cycle To End Father Absence or C2EFA, a campaign to raise awareness and resources for the Special Fathers Network, the premiere mentoring program for fathers raising kids with special needs. Click here for information on the SFN.

cyclebar-signThe first four C2EFA events were done in conjunction with CycleBar® the world’s first and only Premium Indoor Cycling™ franchise. The initial events were held in Burr Ridge, IL (January 28th), Evanston, IL (June 3rd), Oak Park, IL (June 4th) and Mequon, WI (June 15th).

Riders known as DADvocates (women and men, young and old), each ride a stationary bike for 50 minutes. These fun and high energy events are lead by an experienced Cyclebar instructor and choreographed to music, lights and videos.

As a special thank you, each registered rider receives a commemorative C2EFA/Cyclebar t-shirt, two Great Dad Coins, water bottles, a free CycleBar pass and the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of youth through greater father involvement.
