For more than 20 years, BCFND, an Irvine, CA based non-profit has been working with delivery hospitals across the United States to provide soon-to-be first time fathers with valuable and timely resources on becoming a dad. The program involves “veterans” those who recently had a child to teach these soon-to-be first time fathers basic skills like how to: hold a baby, feed a baby, burp a baby, and to change a diaper. IFI is recognized as the country’s first state-wide non-profit fatherhood organization whose mission is to “actively engage fathers in the education of children.” Since 1997 and in partnership with Chicago Public Schools, Illinois State Board of Education and the Office of Catholic Education/Archdiocese of Chicago, has collected well over 400k essays written by K-12 students.
