June 15 – Toledo, OH to Detroit, MI (56 Miles)
Greetings from Detroit
Good morning and greetings from Detroit. 17 days down and only 4 to go đ
DHR traveled 56 miles yesterday for a total of 1,080 miles since leaving Boston.
Yesterday started out a little damp. It was drizzling the first hour of the ride. Since you have to keep your eyes on the road when the pavement is wet and there are potholes disguised as puddles, I didnât even see the âWelcome To Michiganâ signage. Fortunately, the weather improved as the day went on.
We met and honored some extraordinary dads again yesterday, with Great Dad Coins, including firefighters in Flat Rock and Taylor, MI.
Dearborn Police
We had a relaxing picnic lunch at Heritage Park in Taylor. We also met with Dearborn police officers Steve Faith (father of three boys) and Ibrahim Dakhlallah (father of a 2 year old son and a daughter due in August) who escorted us the entire 15 miles from Taylor to Detroit.
We had an enjoyable dinner at Sebastianâs downtown waterfront restaurant.
If you have not yet donated, please do so today by clicking here.
If youâre looking for a Fatherâs Day gift, please consider:
- a Great Dad Coin, or
- a copy of my new book entitled 21st Century Dads: A Fatherâs Journey To Break The Cycle Of Father Absence, available on Amazon.
As a reminder, all the proceeds go to charity. Also, for anyone who donates $100 or more, I will send you an autographed copy of my book.
Weâre off to Coldwater, MI today. A hop, skip and 116 miles away. Please keep our riders in your prayers and thanks again for donating.
Make it a great day!!!
David
