June 4 – Yardley, PA to Wilmington, DE (57 Miles)
Wilmington De
Good morning and greetings from Wilmington, DE our 7th state in six days. We’ve traveled a total of 354 miles. The day started with overcast skies, doing some photos for our sponsors and an escort with Sergeant Mike Histand of the Lower Makefield Police Dept.
The first dad to be honored was Lenny, a Philly dads, who was pushing his two year-old son Liam in a stroller. From there we stopped at the 2nd & York Fire Company and honored fathers Elvis, Kenny, ??, and Matt with Great Dad Coins. Within 15 minutes they pealed away in twos on two separate calls, lights flashing and sirens blaring.
We spent most of the day in Pennsylvania and a good chunk of it in Philadelphia navigating some very interesting neighborhoods. We had Philly cheesesteak sandwiches at the world famous Geno’s Steak Restaurant. From there we honored more dads.
We had a delicious dinner at Chelsea in downtown Wilmington. Afterwards and back at the Double Tree I was able to honor three more dads, all of which coincidentally were local Wilmington residents, who had decided to stay at the hotel over the weekend. Interestingly, they did not know each other. Doing a stay-cation must be popular.
Included below are some photos to provide you with some visuals.

If you’re looking for a Father’s Day gift, please consider a Great Dad Coin as well as purchasing a copy of my new book entitled 21st Century Dads: A Father’s Journey To Break The Cycle Of Father Absence, available on Amazon here. As a reminder, all the proceeds go to charity.
We’re off to Baltimore today, just a hop, skip and an 87 mile jump away 🙂
Thanks again. Make it a great day!!!
