Timothy Janowick is a husband to Jennifer and father to two great young adults, Bridgitte and Gregory. He serves with the Mount Prospect, Illinois, Police Department where he currently is the Chief of Police. Tim lectures nationally on law enforcement leadership, management, and practices and is honored to have the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), National Homeland Security Conference in Philadelphia, the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), the International Association of Directors of Law Enforcement Standards and Training (IADLEST), the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police, the National Park Service Ranger Chiefs, and the Pennsylvania Association of Chiefs of Police invite him to speak, amongst many other state and local organizations.
Tim currently serves on the Advisory Board of the International Law Enforcement
Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA) and the Training Committee for the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police. Chief Janowick serves as an Adjunct Instructor for the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy at the College of DuPage in Glen Ellyn, Illinois where he instructs recruits at a certified police training academy. Advanced
management training includes Northwestern University’s Executive Management
Program and the School of Police Staff and Command in addition to the Police
Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police in Boston.
Chief Janowick graduated with a bachelor’s degree with honors from Western Illinois
University in Macomb, Illinois and completed his Master of Business Administration
degree with a concentration in Organizational Leadership through Benedictine
University in Lisle, Illinois.
