Another 200 Mile Weekend

The first ride took me from Barrington to Evanston, where I met with Jean Anderson, a marketing specialist, who has agreed to put together an overall communications strategy for the Dads Honor Ride.

From there I pedaled to Lincolnwood to visit my mom (AKA grandma Claire). I also enjoyed meeting one of the other Lincolnwood Place residents, Monty Nachman, a 96 year old WWII vet, who shared a handful of amazing stories.

From there I pedaled to visit my friend Jim Mullen and his daughter Maggie, who will be riding on day 21 of the Dads Honor Ride. From there I started heading back to Barrington. As it started to rain, I made an impromptu stop at the Mt. Prospect Police Dept to say hello to my friend Tim Janowick, who is Chief of Police and Dads Honor Ride Safety Captain.

By the time I got to Des Plaines the skies turned dark and green. I rode through a driving rain for 30 minutes from Arlington Heights to Palatine, before taking refuge at Tin Seng, one of my favorite Chinese restaurants, from where I got a ride home and dinner.
