June 17 — Lebanon, MO to Sullivan, MO (94 Miles)
Day number 17. Rained on and off during the day. No planned activities along the way today. I was moved by the sign outside of Westside Baptist Church, which read: “Fathers – What Kind Of Legacy Are You Leaving?” This was by most standards the most rural of rural days. If you’ve seen one Meramec Caverns sign you’ve seen a hundred of them.
We arrived at the luxurious Baymont Inn & Suites (only $76/night) by 8pm. We had a low key pizza dinner around the indoor pool and called it a night. Another good day. Sadly, the end of DHR15 is only 4 days away 🙂
- Another God sighting.
- Never seen a white buffalo.
- Non race day in Lebanon.
- Quite amazing that in 2008 this river reached 34 feet, 14 feet above the flood stage and about 7 feet above the road. Can’t even imagine.
- Not sure what he did, but these folks really don’t like Richard A. Brown of Waynesville.
- With Patrisha Decker, of the Pulaski County Ambulance District. She approached the RV and mentioned she saw us on TV last night, while we were in Springfield, and was excited to meet us. She also made a $100 donation. Thank you!!!
- Taking in the natural beauty.
- 89 1/2 years young and still having fun.
