June 18 – South Bend to Hammond IN (80 Miles)
Hammond, IN
Good morning and Happy Father’s Day from Hammond, IN. Hard to believe today is the last day of Dads Honor Ride 2016. We expect 20+ riders today.
DHR traveled 80 miles yesterday for a total of 1,353 miles since leaving Boston.
Yesterday started out with a police escort by the St. Joseph County Police. It was a bright sunny day and a forecast for temperatures in the mid 80’s.
We met and honored some extraordinary dads again yesterday, with Great Dad Coins, including a large number of first responders. We had a great picnic lunch in Chesterton. We had dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and celebrated Kasia Wac’s 30th birthday, which is actually Sunday.
